NTUC 350 21.1KM

5:55 PM

My 2nd attempt at a half marathon!

The story of how I ended up taking part in this race is actually pretty funny. I was just at home on a random day looking out for races to take part in. So I saw this NTUC 350 run, and I went on to the website. I was looking through the information, then I decided to try to apply for it using my own card. I was just trying the registration when I've yet fully made my mind to take part in it. I was expecting my payment to get rejected because my card usually can't make online payments due to the OTP thing and all....... BUT............ it got through and I was registered for it hahahaha.

So that's my story of how I ended up there. Asked the brother and he reluctantly joined me hahahaha.

Woke up at 1am+ to prepare for the race. I only slept at 11pm last night and I was totally regretting my decision to sleep so late lolol sigh~  Had breakfast and thankfully popz sent us to the MRT station to take the shuttle bus!

Arrived at the venue at approx 3am close to 4am!

Before the flag-off. I thought there weren't many people and they could settle everything in one wave. But they split it and so we were in the second wave!

Obviously, my brother ran off and disappeared into the wilderness from the start. As for me, I ran at my own pace and all was good at the start. It was only until the haze started coming in and it got so hard to catch my breath. It was about 40-ish minutes into the race and I was already feeling tired so I started struggling since then. What made matters worse is that my back just had this constant piercing pain as I ran... and that's because I fell down from the stairs of my house yesterday lololol. It was so unbearable but I just tried my best and stopped for some breaks in between. I wanted to go to the washroom so badly too hahaha so I was just praying that I'd see the finishing line soon sobz.

Oh and the picture above is one of my favourite route of the race! Will try to make my way back there one day to explore... not run hahahaha.

I cannot even describe how happy I felt when I saw the 20km distance marker!! But it was so near yet so far to the end hahahaha.

And yep here I am done with the 21.1km (actually it was about 22km lol) ! Barely made it through.

Thank you for waiting for me hahahahahaha.

And yep! That was my experience for my second half-marathon. I don't know if I'll be taking part in any half-marathons anytime soon because this wasn't exactly the best experience for me. It was so tough on the body and the mind.... I really wanted to give up so many times.... T_T But really, thank God for bringing me through it. I kept speaking to God as I ran and it helped me so much.

This race just reminded of our personal lives as well.

Our entire life is like a race.
Sometimes, we may feel weary, tired and that it's impossible to carry on.
But when we put our mind on God, He'll be there with us, giving us the strength and bring us through the trials and obstacles.
Most important of all, we must remember to run with endurance in the race!
Be consistent in our walk/run with God and not just have certain short bursts of sprints, so that we'll have the stamina to complete it and meet our Maker at the finishing line.

Thank God for this lesson through this race! :-)
