"Walk in Faith" - really what I need to believe in now amidst all these changes. It's going to be a whole lot of changes and adapting, and we really need to have so much faith and trust in the Lord to believe that everything will work out eventually.
I'm really sad and I'll miss everything we had together but I believe God has a purpose for all these plans.
Let's continue to shine for Him and do what we have to. :-)
How is it the last day of February already?! Time is really passing way too fast sobz. I feel like I barely did anything in 2016 and there goes 2 out of 12 months!
Anyway, I spent my last day of February at CF's membership drive, lunch with Together Thursday, studying with Vanessa! Decided to go for a run as well and I'm thankful that I clocked 8km tonight! Thank God that the weather was just beyond amazing!!
Anyway, tomorrow marks the start of the 21 Days of Fasting & Prayer in my church! Honestly, prior to coming Evangel, I never thought that Christians have to fast too. I've seen Christian friends who've done so but never put much thought into it. After learning about the significance and purpose of it, I decided to take this up!
It'll be my first time taking part in it so I'm kinda worried that I wouldn't be able to stand firm in face of temptations. But that's the whole objective of this! To be fully reliant on God and seek Him whenever we feel weak and vulnerable.
Evangel split the 21 days of fasting into 7 sets, with each trinity taking a set (3 days) to fulfill! So tomorrow is my trinity's turn, which will last from 1st to 3rd March. I guess this makes it easier for us but yet allow us to experience it! I'll give it a try with 1 set first, and if I find it manageable, I'll probably go on to take on 1 more set.
Apart from the food fast, I'll be fasting from my social media accounts for the full duration of 21 days! Been trying short bursts of social media fasting and it really made a difference in my life. Instead of posting on my social media accounts on how I feel at the moment, talking about my problems online, I pray and talk to God about it. Of course there're times when I still went on those platforms and rant, so I really want to use this 21 days to learn how to be fully dependent on Him and not on social media!
Anyway, to understand why Christians fast, check out this post in this link: http://www1.cbn.com/spirituallife/the-power-of-prayer-and-fasting !
It won't be easy but it'll be worth it! I'm fearful but more excited to see how I'll experience more spiritual growth through this!!!
God please grant me with the determination and will to complete it! :-)
Was feeling restless over the weekends and decided to try to do my own picture! (No idea what it's called but y'all get the drift) So the picture above is the product of my restlessness lol.
I've no idea why the words "trust and obey" came to my mind first when I was thinking of what words to put. I guess that was God's voice reminding me to trust and obey in Him. :-)
Honestly, I've been feeling very drained out. Trying to live by the days with the strength He is providing me with but it drains out so quickly so it gets harder as the day go by. That's why I feel especially happy whenever there's ycg/youth service/Sunday service. Because it's the only time that I clear out all my thoughts and let God enter my heart and mind. Usually at other times, I'd be plagued by the amount of work I've to clear. There's just that constant feeling of burden at the back of my head and it drains out every drop of energy I have. Furthermore, the fatigue allowing the negativity to enter my mind does not help with anything at all.
Thus, the phrase "trust and obey" can't be any timelier for me.
Trust in His plans.
Trust that He has the best plans for me.
Trust that He wouldn't put me through what I cannot handle.
Trust that He'll be with me at every step of the way.
It's not easy, but I'll continue to learn how to trust and obey in You more than ever.
Thank you Lord for your unrelenting grace and love!
