Trust in God.
8:54 PMBack for an update about my very eventful Sunday. :-)
Day started off really early - at 3am, to catch the shuttle bus to my race! This very sweet brother of mine woke up and walked me to the MRT station to ensure my safety. Also, he prepared an appropriate and delicious pre-race breakfast for me! :-)
The bus ride to the venue was so awesome. Just plugged in and played 'Glorious Days' and 'God is able' on repeat. My heart felt so much at peace during the journey there. Had so much to pen down and be thankful of at that moment. Was such a good start to the day. It was also a very smooth ride and we arrived at the venue shortly!
Wewwwww here at the venue! This is my earliest race thus far - flag off at 6am +. Thought I'd be half dead for the race but surprisingly I wasn't. One thing about this race though, the starting point was so far away from the baggage point. It was about 2km or so? I sweated so much even before the race started.
A pre-race shot! So many people for this race as shown in the pictures. It's the most crowded race I've been to thus far. I actually prefer when there's lesser participants, because that'd mean there'll be more space to run. There were some very narrow paths and we had to overtake by the grass patch at many times.
Conquered the 10km.. in the heavy downpour lol. Really didn't expect the rain at all. I thought the drizzle would stop after a short while. Actually it did stop, but it started again at the 4km mark, and by the time we reached the 6km mark, the heavy downpour came. I've never ran in such a heavy downpour before (like why'd I lol) so I was really worried when faced with such a circumstance. My vision was blurred, from the rainwater that went into my eyes, and I couldn't see the path in front of me at all. Tried hard to continue while drying my eyes with my wet shirt lol.. which helped. The rain also posed another obstacle to me - my breathing. As for me, I only breathe through my nose when I run. Don't ask me why but it has proven to be the best way for me to not get breathless very quickly. It's very important for me to breathe consistently (lol I sound so nerdy) during my runs if not I'll burn out. But.. with the rain, the rainwater just kept going into my nose while I tried to catch my breath and I had difficulty breathing during the run. I really didn't know how I was going to complete the remaining 4km with such a situation. But yeah, eventually I did. All thanks to His grace. Kept praying during the race, for determination, strength and willpower to complete the whole run. He granted me with all of the above and I managed to complete the whole race properly. Really just so thankful!! :-)
All the drenched participants.
One thing really weird about this race is that I didn't even feel that drained out as compared to the other two I joined previously. I'm really surprised myself too when I felt that I could just keep going on, and especially when I saw the finishing point! It also didn't felt like I ran 10km because everything ended so fast.
Decided to leave Stadium for somewhere else to take our pictures! It was just flooded with the drenched participants at the malls there. We were still drenched when we left lol.
My soaked-with-rainwater shoes and my customized bib and the medal!
It was such a good choice because it was so quiet there and we had a very satisfactory meal! :-)
Us after our failed attempt to dry ourselves with our well-deserved breakfast. :*
Rushed off to church after that and I was so glad that I could make it heh! :-)
Headed to this eating house for lunch with the sis and her bf after. #lightbulbatwork
Check out the queue. The service was quite fast though so we didn't wait for that long too.
Headed to Grandstand for desserts after heheh.
Off to this other place nearby for a quick photoshoot lol. Apparently this is quite a popular spot for wedding photoshoots!
Sis' bf with his photographer mode on hahaha.
My skills are not too far off too right lol. So sweet heheh.
Love this shot. Looking very weird but I love how candid it is.
With da' tree.
Saw so many horses there!!! I've always wanted to ride a horse since young but I've never really got to other than the pony ride at the zoo when I was young. Horse riding is an activity for the rich though lol #sigh
And uh... they were forcing me to walk to the chair just to reenact a shot my sister took previously hahaha.
To sum up this post (so abruptly lol), it was such an amazing day. Being able to experience so many things in just a day. Just really soooooo thankful with all the blessings He has/had given me. Today's just one of those days that I'm overwhelmed with gratitude in my heart - from the simplest thing like being able to wake up to a brand new day to create amazing memories to achieving new milestones. Hoping for more of such days!!! :-)
