DVC Week C with S6.

7:30 PM

For the second week at DVC! Was assigned the same module but with a fresh batch of kids.

First day with the Week C kids. Didn't take much pictures on Day 1 as usual. Was feeling the effect from the accumulated fatigue from the previous week and I think I was not that enthusiastic in approaching the kids.

Was unable to remember their names by the end of Day 1. I could for the previous class! I guess it's because it's a bigger class, and that I couldn't get use to the new personalities. Was feeling the Week B-withdrawals so badly and I just felt rather down that I couldn't mix in well with the kids like before.

There was this boy who caught my attention since day 1 though. Dressed in this mini baseball outfit (even down to the high socks)! Super adorable and his personality was quite outgoing too!

Moving on to Day 2, the frog farm visit again!

This time, more of them dared to take pictures with the frogs on their head! But there were some who were so scared and were on the verge of tears lol.

Brave Evan!

Scared Rumi (evidently lol) but still went forward for a picture!

Brave Chiarra as well!

Hahaha their scared faces are so hilarious but they still had the bravery to step forward for a picture!

Them at the frog farm. Compared to the previous bunch, they were much naughtier! Running around by themselves and not listening to the guide. Thankfully they were still quite manageable despite that.

Day 3! I realized that I don't take that many pictures during the days where we stay in school for the whole day. This was the only picture I had of them that day, which was taken during the games after the long day of experiments.

Day 4, trip to Gardens by The Bay again!

It was really sunny that day and we almost died of the heat. To make matters worse, the mosquitoes there are super merciless. Learnt my lesson from the previous week, which I got about 8 or 10 mosquito bites, and brought insect repellent this week and spammed all over myself lol. Got like 2 mosquito bites still lol.

At the exact same spot as last week!

& off to the Sun Pavilion! They were so amazed by the sizes of the cactus like the kids last week!

Play time at Children's Garden. They were all complaining of the heat before that but when they saw the play area, I think they forgot about the heat and ran around so much lol.

Jumping up and down on this kiddy bridge. They're small but given the amount of energy they had, I feared that the bridge will break. Thankfully it didn't lol.

More adventurous kids!

Back to school for more experiments!

Managed to complete the experiments quite early and had time to rehearse for their concert item. Ended off day 4 like so.

Day 5. We asked them to dress in their best attire for the concert and they really did! All with their dresses and their favourite shirts etc. Also, we ended the experiments so much earlier compared to last week so we had more time to rehearse.

Adorbzzzz.

Rehearsing for one final time before the actual concert.

Concert time! The time passed so fast that day despite us completing the required work earlier. Proud of the 22 of them as well for carrying out that performance so beautifully, but I didn't tear up lol opps. Probably because I'm not as attached to them but they're still very lovely kids!

Really love this kid called Yan Ze from this class!!! He's the baseball kid from Day 1. He was like complaining about how messy his hair was after we took the picture and used his fingers to comb his hair lol. The girls in the class are quite mesmerized by him too (very evidently lol) and even the teachers and leaders from the other class pointed out how charismatic he is! He said goodbye to me by saying, "Maybe I'll see you in December!" I hope I'll be able to see him again but I really have no idea if we'll ever again. :-(

Also, for this class, we picked this girl called Isabel as the Best Camper! She seems like this really cool girl on the surface but she actually has a very cutesy and feminine side to her. Only managed to talk to her more on the last day while preparing for the meals and she was just being so adorable! I really feel that she deserves the title more than anyone else in the class!

One final picture with all of them. Week C wasn't as smooth-sailing as the previous week initially, but thankfully it became much better towards the end. We had more injuries to tend to (while for Week B it was zero) and the kids are harder to manage. I guess we were really lucky with Week B to get a class of rather sensible and well-behaved kids. But this class has its own charm with the unique personalities in the class! Like before, I hope that they'll all grow to be successful and happy individuals!

This week gave me a really perfect closure to this job. I can't imagine if I ended with the Week B kids.. I'll probably be weeping for weeks before getting over them lol. Just so thankful to Him for granting me this opportunity to work with the two different groups of kids! It really made my June so much more fulfilling. I hope that I'll have the opportunity to do this again in the near future! :-)
