In fact, I enjoy being alone.

I'm the kind of person who requires 'alone time', lots of it. 'Alone time' not only means being alone physically, but the mentality as well. To me, it's very important for me to have such moments, to collate my thoughts and ponder about the things happening in my life.

How did I grow to become such a person? 

I guess it was a gradual process. I don't know when exactly I started enjoying the times I get to be by myself. In fact, I used to be a clingy kind of person. I'd wish that my best friend(s) would spend lots of time and try out new things with me. But, I realized that was impossible & that was when I started to let go. I let go of the friendships that I expected so much of, I gave up on the potential memories we could have created together. It was a rather miserable time of my life. With so many people leaving my life at different parts of my life, I was numbed to that. I was numbed from all the pain I felt, and shut myself out from many people. I started to reevaluate the people that I should actually prioritize in my life - my family.

It was not long after when I received a huge blow in my life - Grandpa's passing. Just when I thought that I was numbed to people leaving me. That was it, losing a family member that I held so close to my heart. I knew that I would never feel worse than that anymore.

That probably struck me really deeply too. It was a message that I should learn how to be independent. Not to ever think that a person will stay with you forever. Not to be too reliant on others for your own happiness. To learn how to derive happiness from yourself.

This is also the reason why I can't trust a person once he/she has decided to leave my life. "No turning back." That's what I strongly believe in. If you made the decision to leave once, why wouldn't you again? It's easier for a second time isn't it? I guess I'm really tired from people leaving my life so I guess that's my own way of protecting myself from getting hurt once again.

To get myself out of that constant misery, I slowly grew to enjoy being alone. Instead of being caught up by those constant chattering with friends, I started to realize how I can be happy by myself too.

I wouldn't say that I've learnt how to be entirely independent at the moment, but I'm still learning. I still get affected by people around me at times, but it's much lesser than before. Even with this said, I still love the company of my friends and all. It's just that I would feel suffocated if we spend too much time together over a short period of time and that I would prefer if we'd give each other some space. I guess many of my friends would have realized this by now, so it's all good. :-)

A shot together there! It was quite empty and we had more than enough space to jump around. It's good that they only allow 10 people per slot so that it wouldn't be too cramped! But for our slot, there were only 3 others there so we could really jump around freely.



Went to do some grocery shopping for our midnight snacking & then we made our way to check-in to our place for the next 2D1N! This was the first level.

Unpacked our stuff and washed up after all the sweat. Dressed up to head to the next location on our itinerary!


While waiting for the shuttle bus to bring us to town. The bus ride made us like we're overseas. It was all good until we alighted LOL.



Went to the Singapore Art Museum to walk around! Totally acting like tourists. It was my first visit there and I really enjoyed the trip there! The art pieces were really so beautiful especially with its meanings!



There was this special exhibition at SAM at 8Q targeted at kids! I was quite drawn to it too though lol. There were several activities available to engage the public to contribute to the final art piece.


After which, we went for dinner at this Korean barbeque restaurant!



Food selection and quality was reasonable given the price we paid! We still had a free bibimbap each on top of the buffet, but we were too full from the bbq so we only got 1 in the end! The four of us smelt like chickens after the meal there lol. #kbbqwoes

Stopped over at the Japanese mart at Liang Court after and went back to the hotel! Just slacked around and talked for quite a bit. We were all quite tired by then so we didn't stay up till very late. The girl who wanted us to stay up to talk fell asleep first. *coughs* I wonder who hmm LOL.

Woke up quite early the next day (around 7+?). The fish and the worm went for a swim while Songen and I stayed in and had an unplanned heart-to-heart talk.


The initial plan was to find them downstairs while they were swimming shortly but we lost track of time while talking. When we finally went down to find them, they were already done swimming. It was a really good talk with her though! The best talks indeed come at the most unexpected times. :-)



Went to The Book Cafe which was just across the street! Heard about this cafe since quite some time back and I've always wanted to head down at least once & since we're so near it, why not?!

The whole staycation didn't end there! We went to catch Fast and Furious 7 together and omg.. IT WAS SUCH A GOOD SHOW. Didn't expect myself to enjoy it that much! The show ended with a tribute for Paul Walker and it's so sad sigh. Really love his character in the show!


Had Makisan for our lunch/tea break after the show! It was good but pricey too sobs. Went to Macs for some ice-cream and ended the whole staycation like so. :-)


It was truly a wonderful staycation with you girls! Although we didn't get to go overseas like we wanted to, we still had so much fun together! It doesn't matter where we are as long as we're together creating the memories (omg cheesy) but I really mean that. It's our 7th year together and I really look forward to creating more memories with you all. I hope we'll always stay as close, or even closer than before! Really love you all so much. ♥♥♥ Can't wait for our next adventure together.

Ion Sky with the two. It was a rather impromptu trip there. (What did we even do before that?!) I think we just met up to eat non-stop as usual. The Ion Sky reminded us of the time when we were at Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong. Sigh, that wonderful night. At least there's something similar back home and it was a really spectacular sight! Really thankful to the late Mr Lee for this beautiful 'art piece'.


Ramen Champion with the siblings after work on a Saturday to celebrate sister's birthday! My first time trying their food and it was pretty good.  It was like a high-class ramen food court. Really spoilt for choices when I was there.


What's a meal without desserts. (ok actually still a meal but yeah..) First time trying gelato from Gelateria Italia although Lot 1 has an outlet too. It was kinda pricey though but it was really yummy as well.


A shot with the siblings. Thanks for waiting for me to end work so that we can have lunch together (at 4pm lol)! Really enjoy such rare moments when we can spend some time together.



Attended the soldier's POP too. Woke up at 5am to head to the Float for it. Was dying of tiredness but it was worth sacrificing my sleep, & I'm really honored that he invited us to witness this accomplishment of his.


So happy to see him at the finishing point! Kudos to you for surviving the 24km with all those things heavier than you. It was tough but you did it! I'm really proud of you, no matter which vocation you're assigned to! I believe that you'll excel in the new posting and emerge even stronger after! :-)

Got ditched by the two so Clarissa and I proceeded with our pig-out day. Finally tried the food that we wanted to. Had a great talk with her over the most random things too. :-)




Headed out with the two again today before the soldier needs to book in again! A rather short but still amazing time together eating (again). Treated the soldier to a meal for his birthday! A rather (non-existent) 'celebration' for him but I hope that he still enjoyed it. :-)

Finally found some time for an update once again.

Going to blog about a recent event though: My sister's 22nd birthday.

This time round I planned a surprise party for her. Had several sleepless nights stressing over it but thankfully the whole surprise was a success!

Initial plans were scraped due to cost and inconvenience issues, so in the end, I thought of just heading to Botanic Gardens for a picnic party! She was quite open to that idea but she thought that it was only going to be the two of us. Well, the surprise isn't the picnic but the people that will appear there. Only invited her really close friends and I'm so thankful that they're so spontaneous and helpful throughout the whole thing! It wouldn't have been a success without any single of them. :-)


It's so pretty right?! My sister's friends did that up. But it looked much better in real life.

Also, I was so afraid that it'd rain and I kept praying non-stop since days before, and guess what.. it didn't rain despite the forecast which mentioned it would! Truly shows how he answers prayers even to the smallest requests!! Beyond thankful for His grace and hand in this!! :-)

The most important part of a picnic, food!

Catered all these for convenience sake although it burnt a hole in my pocket lol. But it looks like a legit picnic with all these. Macaroons from Brunetti, bought by TTN! I also bought  the birthday cake from Chocolate Origin. Usually not a fan of full chocolate cakes but it was really good!! The other extra stuff (orange juice, pandan cake, yakult) are from the supermarket, aka "props" to get the sister there for the surprise picnic.


Really love the photos taken that day! We had a professional photographer at work so we could just chill and enjoy the food.
