Another year older but I don't feel wiser sobs.

Anyway here's how my 19th birthday went!




First celebration was with TSML at Udders! We wanted to try it after our treetop walk previously but they ran out of mains then. A pretty good meal. The fries were so good! It was a rather huge serving though.


Very thankful to have them in my life since 2009! Our 7th year, and hoping for many more years ahead. Thanks for celebrating my birthday every year without fail and making this day feel extra special. Really appreciate the effort put in every year! :-)


Second one was with Bernice and Denise! Was super shocked for this because I didn't expect them to come all the way to my house to surprise me. So touched!!! Thanks for coming specially just to celebrate my birthday! :')





Went to Lady M after that for desserts! Had to queue for quite awhile before we got our seats.

Title inspired from the drama I just finished watching but it's pretty apt for what I want to blog about.

Today used to be a special occasion for me. Yes, used to. No longer, and will never be again.

It's been a really hectic 2 weeks at school, but I've no idea why I thought of our memories today again. Maybe it's the drama that I watched that reminded me of the good and bad times we shared. Maybe it's the drama that made me think (just for a split second), "Perhaps? Maybe?"

But I brushed off those thoughts almost instantaneously.

For the past year, I tried really hard to erase everything in my head. It was easier at the start actually, because of the preparation for As. I only had one goal in mind that time and I knew that I had to give up many things just to achieve that 1 goal. I had no time for other thoughts. But after that, when I had more time, it got harder. I wavered many times. In fact, too many for me to keep track. Eventually, I figured that it's impossible to get rid of what we had together. I decided to bring those memories with me as an experience and lesson in my life. That made me felt a little better. I stood firm from then on, with His love, grace and endless reminders, I moved on.

I hope the todays from now on will not be like today. Instead, it will pass like any normal day. (Maybe I should just stop watching dramas lolz)

Despite all this said, I'm thankful for what we had together. I hope with this (almost) one year mark, it will really be the end.

Day 1

At the airport! Our flight was at 6am so the airport was pretty empty when we arrived to check-in. Thank Emily's dad for driving us over to the airport at such an unearthly hour!!

Yay landed! Got our prepaid cards for convenience (Google Maps and communication) and there we were on our very first cab ride to our hotel!









Was kinda shocked when we arrived at the hotel (The Berkeley Hotel)! Super big, spacious and grand. The staff there had very good service and they were so friendly! Also, we could check into our hotel when we arrived at 12-ish when the check-in time was supposed to be 3pm.

After settling down for awhile, we headed out to the streets where the shopping and eating began~


One really dangerous thing in BKK: there are no proper pedestrian crossings! Had to jaywalk 90% of the time and the drivers there are pretty reckless. Felt like we were putting our lives on the line whenever we had to cross the road lolol.



Our first stop in BKK: Sabx2 Wanton Mee!



It's a pretty famous food outlet in BKK so we had to try it. The verdict is, it lived up to its rave!!! Portion was pretty small though (explaining ossiepokkie's pose hahaha).




They had pig trotter rice there too and it was yummy too! I really liked the gravy with the rice hahaha.


The shop was packed when we arrived and there was a queue! But the turnover rate was really fast so we got our seats in no time.


Went to The Platinum Mall after our meal!



We were pretty shocked when we stepped in because there were so many people with huge (like really HUGE) bags of purchases. I guess that made us expect a little more from the mall.



Sad to say, we didn't get much. What more, we walked like 80-90% of the whole mall in 3h or so? Was slightly disappointed but we kept our hopes high for the next few days of shopping at the other places.



We bought this pair of sandals outside the mall though! Pretty cool cause we could actually customize the design that you'd like to have!



Decided to head to a cafe to eat and rest our feet~

Off to our next stop: Asiatique!


Had to take a ferry after alighting from a BTS.




Arrived after a 15-20 min ride!



The whole place has a very Westernized theme, which is obviously targeted to tourists! But it's so pretty~





Decided to settle our dinner there! We just went into one randomly lol.








Yay food. It was really delicious!!! Glad we chanced upon this shop and decided to head in heheh.


Another impromptu thing we did: take a ferris wheel ride! It was actually pretty scary lol cause the speed is fast (unlike SG flyer) and the cabin shakes!!! Was like screaming in fear during the first round and they kept making fun of me sobz. But I was okay for the next 3 rounds lolol.

All the food there looked so good but we were kinda exploding from our dinner so we only got some food.

Day 2

Started the day really early at 4am+! We wanted to go to the Pratunam Morning Market which opens at 5am and closes at 7am. #thethingsgirlsdoforshopping




We were like the first to arrive there and we had the whole pool to ourselves for quite a while. :-)

We kinda just played around in the water and swam for just a bit hahaha.


Washed up and ready to start day 2!




We walked around the area near our hotel and got some street food for our breakfast!


Shocked at how cheap everything was. Spent like around SGD2 on all of these?! And they were pretty decent-tasting too!


The mall for that day was Union Mall! Read that the customers here are mostly the locals!



It's a pretty huge mall and there weren't many people there. Did manicure and shopped after. Got quite a number of things there too and all of us bought quite a few things!


It has a very Westernized feel to it as well!

I kinda like this night market because you can actually customize most of the things sold there!

Went back to rest for the day after walking the night market. :-)

Day 3

 The things sold there are pretty pricey because they carry lots of international brands!




Loved this omg. Hands down the best mango smoothie I ever had in my life!!!

Hopped to Petite Audrey for another round of desserts.

Cabbed back to Central World after, and by some stroke of luck we saw this! A rather funny occurrence because once we got off the cab, we saw a bunch of people running over from the side road and screaming hahaha.


Headed over to the street stalls near Central World to grab our dinner!

There were so many stalls and we bought so much!

What's a meal in Thailand without a coconut! The view was pretty awesome too! (sorry to those who were stuck in the jam lol)

Day 4

Couldn't continue after like 3h of walking. Super hot and just too many areas to cover! But we still got quite a number of things at Chatuchak! Went back to Platinum Mall after that!
