Here to update about my CNY week!
Started off the week with work as usual, and then headed for my second theory test for driving, the BTT. Thankfully I passed it and I can finally start with the practical lessons after 2 months of waiting.
On the eve of Chinese New Year, my family and I went down to pay respects to my dearest Grandpa. It's been 4 years since he left us.. how time flies right? Even though it has been four years, I can still remember the happenings on the day he left us, the tears that came along with the pain I felt. Even until today, I still think about him a lot and will get teary when I start to think about the memories we had together. "If only.." If only he was still here with us, how different would it be? Ever since my second aunt left us, the family gatherings felt emptier.. and with Grandpa's departure back then, it was just like a double kill for us. I'm really glad that despite all these, my family is still as close as ever, and we learned to cherish each other even more. :-)
Had our meal at this Korean restaurant at Far East Plaza. Always walked past it whenever I'm there, but I've never taken notice of it until that day. The food was surprisingly very good too. Was really so full after our meal & I lost the mood to shop with the sister lol. Was waddling around after the meal with them lol.
Sign(s) of ageing - wanting to sit down after walking around for awhile. Yes, we stopped by Paris Baguette after walking around for a short while for coffee and some desserts heheh.
Headed down to Grandma's for the long awaited reunion dinner after that! Had such a wonderful time with my dearest family, just chatting and laughing together about the silliest things. We didn't take any pictures this time though sobs :-(
CNY Day 1 - my outfit of the day. Spent quite a bit on my outfit this time although it looks super basic but I felt that it was worth it though haha.
With my beloved Grandma! No amount of words can ever be enough to describe how wonderful she is. She is really the pillar of the whole family. Love her so much. :-)
Selfie with grandma. :-)
Went for a tea break after visiting both paternal and maternal sides at Coffee Bean! Tried their cakes for the first time ever.. and it was SO GOOD.
Raspberry cheesecake goodness.
Went to exercise with daddy after that before heading to Grandma's again for reunion dinner II.
Headed to the annual River Hongbao with the family after that! Really had the CNY mood there lol. The lights last year was much prettier though. Walked around to look at the exhibits for awhile and dived into the Food Street lol. There were so many (overpriced) food there but everyone there would still buy them.
With the love of my life! & of course all of my other family members too hehe.
CNY Day 2- For our family, it's our tradition to come over to my house on the second day of CNY! & for the first time, we decided to order buffet to make everything easier (lesser cleaning and preparation lol). Had a great time with my family as usual despite how tiring it was to run about here and there lol. I always look forward to CNY because of the numerous gatherings we have in just 3 days. It's not every time that we get to meet one another so often so I really cherish these times a lot.
Really super glad that we still make the effort to come together to head out despite our respective busy schedules! Also love it how our topics can vary so much, from the stupidest things to the most serious things ever. We can insult each other like crazy, but deep down, we care for each other a lot. We share advices, tease and laugh at one another's stupid/retarded actions & speech. Hoping that this friendship will be one that lasts for a very long time. :-)

The area near the place we visited Grandpa.
After which, my dad & I headed down to the town area to meet my sister for a meal and last minute shopping for CNY. Was quite shocked that my dad wanted to tag along lol, but I was really happy that he decided to spend more time with us. :-)

Ate this last year too and was super happy to see it again lol. #piglife Ordered fried squid too and it was so good too?!?! Really ate so much in just that day alone sigh.

CNY Day 3- We finally met up with the soldier who had his first book-out in 2 weeks. Really had an amazing time with them as usual!! Headed to River Hongbao with them and we totally pigged out (like seriously). The rich soldier treated us to almost all of the food we bought there heheh. Went for a movie after & sat around to talk for a short while.

CNY Day 4- Headed to Songen's this year for visiting this year! Also had a wonderful time with them just pigging out & crapping so much. Really thank her family and her for hosting this time!
We made a super impromptu decision to head to the bowling alley for a few games. Been awhile since I played bowling and it was fun as usual heheh. :-)
Really super thankful for the three of them as well! It's really been quite a long journey.. this is our 7th year? Really so many memories made together along the way, and it's kinda impossible to remember every single one of it. Glad that we still make the effort to sustain the friendship as well! Also another friendship that I hope will go on for a long time. :-)
Most important of all, thank God for blessing me with wonderful family members and friends. Without You, I wouldn't have met any of them and created such beautiful memories. Thank God for giving me such a wonderful Chinese New Year too, blessing my family members and friends with happiness and good health so that we can meet up together once again. I pray that You will continue to do so for the year ahead and really, I'm beyond thankful to God, for every single thing in my life right now. :-)
Till next time!
